FOR ARTISTS
Your editions, your numbers, every gallery.
If you run your own editions you are almost certainly running them in a spreadsheet: which numbers are gone, which are promised, which gallery has what, and where the castings have got to. The spreadsheet does not tell your galleries anything, and it does not tell your collectors anything, so every question arrives as an email.
Craftlog is that spreadsheet, shared. You keep control of the numbers. Everyone who needs to know can see where things stand without asking you. If a gallery on Craftlog represents you, they pay and it is free for you. On your own, it is $19 a month after your first three editions.
Your editions, across every gallery
Which numbers have gone, which are still available, and which gallery is holding what. One page covering all of it, kept current by the galleries themselves rather than by you. No other system shows an artist this at all.
You say which galleries may issue your editions
Any gallery you work with can sell from the whole unsold edition, unless you say otherwise. Require your approval first, or refuse a gallery entirely, and Craftlog holds them to it: an edition you have not authorised cannot be assigned.
Say it once
Post a photo and a line about where a piece has got to. The gallery sees it, and so does the collector waiting for it. Nobody writes a status email, and nobody has to chase you for one.
Your name on the certificate
When a certificate of authenticity is issued for your work you can authorise it and add a line in your own words. Anyone who checks it sees the artist stood behind it, not only the gallery.
What Craftlog does not do
It does not sell around your gallery. You see who holds your work, by name, because it is your work and you may need to reach them. The sale itself, the price and the relationship stay the gallery’s.
It does not take a commission on your sales, and it does not sell your work. Craftlog is a record, not a marketplace.
It does not cost you anything while a gallery on Craftlog represents you: their plan covers you, and there is no upgrade waiting further in. Working on your own, your first three editions are free and the Artist plan is $19 a month from the fourth. Nothing you have made is ever locked.
Ask your gallery to add you
Artists get access through a gallery they already work with. If yours is on Craftlog, ask them to send you an invitation from their Artists page. It takes them about ten seconds and costs them nothing extra.
Something you can send them
“I would like to be able to see my editions and follow production on Craftlog. If you are set up there, could you add me from your Artists page? It is free for me and takes a moment at your end.”
Your gallery is not on Craftlog yet?
You do not have to wait for them. Register your own editions today, from your own account, and invite the gallery from there: they see your work with them, and it costs them nothing while it is only your work. Or send them here first. Galleries use Craftlog to track editions, reserve specific numbers for collectors, and follow production at their foundries without chasing anyone.
